Azeem Makhzan Appointed as Head of Quality Assurance at Hilal Foods

Azeem Makhzan has taken on a pivotal leadership role as Head of Quality Assurance at Hilal Foods (Pvt) Ltd., bringing with him nearly two decades of excellence in quality management, compliance, and operational governance within the FMCG industry.

With an impressive 18 years tenure at Procter & Gamble, Azeem has built a distinguished career centered around driving end-to-end Quality Management Systems (QMS), ensuring GMP compliance, and leading large-scale quality transformations across manufacturing and supply chain operations. His track record reflects consistent delivery of world-class standards, including achieving zero consumer complaints and zero critical audit observations across multiple categories and facilities.

Throughout his career, Azeem has led complex quality assurance initiatives spanning contract manufacturing, product localization, and import operations. His leadership has been instrumental in enhancing process capability, significantly reducing scrap rates, and strengthening audit readiness through structured CAPA frameworks and data-driven continuous improvement. He has also played a key role in aligning local operations with global quality benchmarks, collaborating closely with regional and international stakeholders.

In his new role at Hilal Foods (Pvt) Ltd., Azeem will lead strategic Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Food Safety operations across the organization’s cake and confectionery portfolio. His focus on risk-based governance, post-production contamination controls, and building a strong quality culture is set to further elevate product standards and reinforce consumer trust.

Azeem holds a Master’s degree in Physical Chemistry from the Karachi University, combining strong technical expertise with deep operational insight. His appointment reflects a continued commitment to excellence, compliance, and innovation in quality leadership within Pakistan’s FMCG sector.
