Mufti Imran Awan Promoted to Senior VP & Shariah Advisor | Resident Shariah Board Member at National Bank of Pakistan
Mufti Imran Awan has been promoted to Senior Vice President and Shariah Advisor, serving as a Resident Member of the Shariah Board at National Bank of Pakistan.
With over 16 years of banking experience and more than 12 years in Islamic teaching, Mufti Imran brings deep expertise in Islamic Finance, Shariah compliance, and banking operations. He has successfully converted conventional branches into Islamic banking branches and established Islamic Banking windows at NBP, while also developing the conversion plan for NBP-Afghanistan.
He has served as Shariah Advisor and Resident Shariah Board Member at National Bank of Pakistan, Crescent Standard Modaraba, and MCB Bank, while also contributing as a visiting faculty at IBA Centre for Excellence in Islamic Finance and Memon School of Business & Finance. His research spans Arabic, Urdu, and English publications, including Shariah rulings on finance, inheritance, contracts, reinsurance, and Sukuks.
Mufti Imran holds an MIBF and PGD in Islamic Banking & Finance from Karachi University, underlining his academic and practical mastery in the field. His appointment highlights a continued commitment to advancing Shariah-compliant solutions, governance, and strategic guidance across banking operations.
