Punjab Announces IT Internship Program For Students

In a significant move to boost employability and the digital economy, the Government of Punjab has officially launched a new IT internship program for fresh graduates. This initiative is designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world industry demands, providing crucial hands-on experience in the province’s growing tech sector.

Key Objectives of the Punjab IT Internship

The primary goal of this program is to enhance job readiness for fresh IT graduates. By placing them directly within active IT companies, the initiative aims to:

Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply?

This program is specifically designed for recent graduates. Applicants must meet all of the following conditions:

• Educational Background: A degree in one of the following IT and technology fields:
  • Computer Science / Information Technology
  • Data Science / Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Cyber Security / Information Security
  • Telecom & Networking
  • Multimedia, Animation & Graphic Design
  • Remote Sensing & GIS
  • Mobile Computing
  • Business Information Systems

• Education: Must have completed a minimum of 16 years of education.
• Graduation Timeline: Must have graduated within the last 4 years (i.e., in 2020 or later).
• Employment Status: Must be unemployed at the time of application.
• Domicile: Must be a domicile holder of Punjab.
• Identification: Must possess a valid CNIC.
• Gender: The program is open to all genders.

Program Benefits and Stipend Details

Selected candidates will receive substantial support, making this one of the most attractive internships available.

• Internship Duration: 5 months of full-time training.
• Monthly Stipend: A generous stipend of Rs. 50,000 per month for each intern.
• Host Company Support: The government will also provide Rs. 12,500 per intern to the participating IT company to support the training.
• Total Seats: A total of 2,000 internships are available across the province.
