Rafia Mumtaz Appointed as Vice Chancellor at Kohsar University Murree

Dr. Rafia Mumtaz has been appointed as Vice Chancellor at Kohsar University Murree. With a Ph.D. from the University of Surrey, UK, she brings over 15 years of academic and research leadership experience in technology, innovation, and higher education management.

Before this appointment, she served as a Tenured Professor and Director of the Internet of Things (IoT) Lab at NUST, where she spearheaded groundbreaking initiatives in precision agriculture, IoT, and sustainability. Her distinguished career includes serving as Associate Dean at NUST-SEECS, Assistant Professor at King Faisal University, and Visiting Professor at Coventry University.

Dr. Rafia’s contributions have earned her multiple accolades, including the NUST Best University Teacher Award 2021–22, Women of Wonders Award 2021, and several national and international research grants. Her portfolio also includes patented innovations in air quality monitoring and agricultural technology.Her appointment marks a significant step in advancing academic excellence and research innovation at Kohsar University Murree.
