Sindh Government Extends Ajrak Number Plate Deadline to December 31, 2025
The Sindh government has officially extended the deadline for replacing old vehicle number plates with the new Ajrak-themed plates by two months, according to a recent notification from the Provincial Excise and Taxation Department. The new final deadline for all types of vehicles to switch to the new plates is now December 31, 2025. This move provides additional time for vehicle owners across the province to comply with the mandate.
This is the second extension granted for the initiative. Earlier in August, the deadline was extended on the instructions of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, who had directed authorities to ensure a wider and more effective rollout of these culturally inspired plates. The new Ajrak number plates, which feature a traditional Sindhi Ajrak design and enhanced security features, are part of a broader effort to modernize vehicle registration while showcasing Sindh’s rich cultural heritage.
