ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Directorate of Immigration and Passports has launched a convenient online passport application system through the official e-Services Portal, allowing citizens to apply for or renew their Pakistan passports online without waiting in long queues.

In an instructional video shared on social media, the Passport Department announced that citizens can now visit onlinemrp.dgip.gov.pk to submit their online passport renewal applications quickly and easily.

How to Create an Account on the e-Services Portal

The video explains the complete process for both new and existing users:

1- If a user already has an account, they can simply click Login.
2- New users must click Register, fill out the registration form, and provide an active mobile number and email address.
3- After entering all details, users must type the verification code and click Next.
4- A verification link will be sent to their email.
5- After clicking the link and entering the code, the account will be successfully created.
6- Users can then log in using their email and password.

Submitting an Online Passport Application

Once logged in, applicants can select from five available application options, depending on their requirement.

Important guidelines for online passport renewal include:

1- The passport must have less than one year of validity remaining to be eligible for online renewal.
2- Major updates such as name change, correction of details, or occupation updates cannot be done through the online system.
3- Applicants can choose their nearest passport office from a drop-down list to avoid unnecessary travel if a physical visit becomes required.

Photo and Document Requirements

The Passport Department also highlighted the required photograph specifications for men and women when applying online.

Applicants must follow these rules:

1- Photo file size must be under 1 MB
2- Accepted formats include PNG, JPG, and JPEG
3- All supporting documents must also be uploaded in these formats
