Deputy General Manager – Transport

Key Responsibilities:
Lead overall fleet management and transport operations.
Plan strategic expansion of transportation through effective asset utilization.
Develop and implement transport policies, SOPs, and compliance standards.
Manage company-owned and hired fleets to ensure maximum efficiency and minimum downtime.
Handle vendor management, including negotiations, onboarding, contracts, and performance evaluation.
Manage transport P&L, budgeting, and cost control initiatives.
Oversee fleet maintenance planning to minimize operational downtime.
Manage driver allocation, performance, discipline, and compliance.
Monitor fuel usage, routing, tracking systems, and reporting.
Ensure compliance with all legal, safety, and regulatory transport requirements.
Requirements:
MBA in Supply Chain or a relevant field of study.
15+ years of experience in transport or logistics management with large-scale organizations in a leadership role.
Strong negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills.
Proven experience in large-scale fleet handling within manufacturing or logistics setups.
Sound knowledge of fleet tracking, maintenance planning, and cost optimization strategies.
Exceptional leadership and strategic planning abilities.
