1️⃣ Assistant Manager Projects

Purpose:

The primary responsibility of AM/DM – “Assistant Project Manager” is to assist project delivery team in executing complex AMI projects under supervision of assigned Project Manager. Lead projects that are less complex, owning their end-to-end delivery ensuring these projects are on time, on budget, and within scope.

Key Responsibilities:

1. AMI Smart Metering Roll-out:

• Assist in the development of 10 years smart meters roll out plan.
• Facilitate in communicating the locked rollout strategy to end users.
• Liaison with operational end users (IBCs, NC, G&T) to compile annual growth plan of Smart Meters.
• Assisting implementation of smart metering roll outs and ensuring on system installation of all smart meters till MDMS.
• Liaison with internal departments for planning upgrades and capacity increase of backend systems.
• Continuous monitoring of rollout progress and ensure resources’ availability for timely completion.

2. System Upgradation Projects:

• Coordinating with Headend Systems and IT team for upgrades and capacity increase of AMI systems.
• Obtaining approvals for AMI backend systems upgrades in terms of scope and budget.
• Facilitation in locking SOW with vendors and executing upgrades with existing data migrations and backups.
• Supporting the sign-off of annual SLAs with AMI vendors.

3. AMI New Technology Research and Development:

• Conducting R&D and feasibility studies for new smart metering technological initiatives.
• Determining AMI project specifications by studying product designs, business requirements, and performance standards.
• Connecting with relevant AMI vendors and service providers for solution exploration.
• Conducting in-depth technical and commercial review of solutions.

4. AMI New Technology Initiatives Implementation:

• Assisting in projects involving integration of AMI with other technologies (e.g., GIS, SCADA).
• Coordinating all project elements including engineering design, quality, planning, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and final completion phases.
• Continuous monitoring of project’s schedule, scope, and budget via appropriate KPIs.
• Conducting end-to-end testing, pre and post go-live training for end users.

2️⃣ Manager LT Ops

Purpose:

Major stakeholder in up-keep of the communication status of smart meters across the company. The responsibilities include monitoring and controlling the technical support of AMI assets pre and post-installation activities, planning and facilitation of field surveys. Oversee troubleshooting of communication related issues by aligning resources for field surveys. Provision of resources for on-field support during AMI project executions. Own the development and upkeep of smart meters standard technical specifications. Responsible for post-commissioning operations of AMI projects/rollouts up till success declaration of project before handing over to end-user.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Support for AMI Rollouts/POCs:

• Provision of resources for on-field support during AMI project executions and undertaking operations till success declaration.
• Responsible for site commissioning of projects/roll outs/ POCs under AMI ambit.
• Owner of post-commissioning operations of AMI projects/rollouts up till success declaration.

2. Smart Meters Operations & Maintenance (O&M):

• Ensuring communication KPI of smart meters installed across KE distribution function.
• Align resources for joint surveys to troubleshoot and resolve communication related issues.
• Develop Predictive Maintenance plans for smart meters communication infrastructure.
• Oversee resource allocation of Joint survey activity for resolution of noncommunicative meters.
• Develop matrices for Conditional Monitoring of smart meters.
• Devising Asset Maintenance Management strategies.
• Overseeing Configuration of smart meters as per defined NEPRA standards within TATs.
• Remote operational support for AMI infrastructural components and equipment.
• Responsible for maintaining right inventory of communication devices.
• Ensuring Operational HSEQ compliance in configuration and commissioning of smart meters.
• Monitoring of Operational KPIs by upkeeping of AMI O&M Dis. Performance Dashboards and Reports.

3. O&M SOPs Compliance:

• Ensuring compliance and operations on AMI components Lifecycles & SOPs.
• Owner of Product Technical Documentation Support for AMI Policies, SOPs, Life Cycles, and Frameworks.

4. Smart Meter Standards & Technical Documentation:

• Owner of all SOPs, policies and codes and specs related to AMI assets at Dist level.
• Governance of implemented standard codes and specifications for smart meters.

5. Resources Management:

• Building high performance teams by coaching and mentoring.
• Building Capability of company resources on implemented Framework.
• Identifies training requirements of the team.
• Creates team spirit and ensures seamless interaction among team members.
• Design performance indicators and creates learning and improvement plans for team.
• Ensure availability of required resources, skill set, and expertise via developing capability building plans.

3️⃣ Project Trainee

Purpose:

The role is responsible for conducting security assessments, identifying vulnerabilities and threats, and ensuring governance compliance across projects, system changes, and technology infrastructure through vulnerability management and penetration testing activities.

Responsibilities:

• Support security assessment activities for company-wide projects, including organizational changes in platforms, software, hardware, and appliance-based solutions.
• Participate in identifying threats and vulnerabilities in projects or requested changes.
• Assist in reviewing change requests, service requests, and special requests in line with governance policies.
• Contribute to vulnerability management and penetration testing activities across infrastructure (servers, networks, databases, software, configurations).

Requirements:

4️⃣ Assistant Manager HES Administrator

Purpose:

This position administers the AMI Headend system of multiple vendors (Iskraemeco, Hexing, and Holley) and their subsequent databases. Moreover, this role also monitors and administers the smart devices, their supporting software(s), and dashboards for each HES. This involves rectification and resolution of technical issues in smart devices, communication topology, and HES. Furthermore, this position is responsible for identification of technical requirements & negotiation with internal as well as external parties (vendors) to induct improved and advance systems, technology, and tools that suit KE technical & business needs. Ensure zero downtime via continuous monitoring of complete AMI components and their end-to-end connectivity. This position also assists in proper SLA and DLP agreements with multiple AMI vendors with the objective of providing error-free and timely data to relevant stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Head-end Systems (HES) Administration:

• Administration of the AMI Headend system of multiple vendors (Iskraemeco, Hexing, and Holley) and their subsequent databases.
• Provision of limited access to Headend system and associated software user for configuration of Smart meters.
• Dynamic allocation of access to users/external systems based on current and future needs.
• Device management of different meter vendors.
• Administration of databases for all Head end systems.
• Implementation of data security, periodic backups, user access management, and performance monitoring of databases.
• Implementation, monitoring & maintenance of integration of HES with current and ongoing external systems (MDMS, SAP and Data Analytics software).
• Configuration of different hardware/software modules of the Headend system.
• Regular Health monitoring of installed devices/meters via intelligent monitoring dash boarding.

2. Headend Optimization and Process Management:

• Troubleshooting and solving software issues along with vendor in order to optimize and create an error-free system.
• Facilitation in process design for better understanding of Headend processes.
• Support in designing and implementing SOP and policies related to smart devices and HES for improved performance.
• Coordination with IBC, IT, MDMS, Governance for better resolution of issues related to smart meters, HES hardware/software, and integration with external systems.

3. SLA and DLP Contracts with AMI Vendors:

• Facilitates in proper SLA and DLP agreements with multiple AMI vendors.
• Draft technical terms for SLA and DLP with all AMI HES vendors.
• Prepare initial level SOW, assist other teams in drafting codes and specs for AMI assets.
• Timely raising of HES system issues with vendors pertaining to the operations, maintenance, and upkeep.

4. System Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

• Facilitation in HES system monitoring and troubleshooting.
• In-house Development & Implementation of dashboards for monitoring smart meters, their communication status, and HES server health.
• Gathering predefined sets of metrics or logs for the purpose of monitoring HES integration with external systems.
• Assist in rectification of communication related issues between smart meter and HES.
