Residents of Karachi are expected to face intense heat on Sunday, with the “feels like” temperature likely to range between 46°C and 47°C, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The Met Office stated that while the actual temperature is expected to reach around 37°C, high humidity levels will significantly increase the heat index, making conditions feel much hotter across the city. On Saturday, Karachi recorded a maximum temperature of 36.6°C, as hot and humid weather persisted.

Officials reported that southwesterly winds are currently blowing at approximately 25 km/h, while humidity levels stand at around 63 percent. This combination of warm air and moisture is contributing to uncomfortable and potentially hazardous conditions for residents.

The PMD has forecast dry weather with no chances of rainfall in the city during the day. Authorities have advised citizens to remain cautious, stay hydrated, and avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, especially during peak daytime hours.

Residents have also been urged to take preventive measures against heat-related illnesses, as temperatures continue to remain above seasonal averages and humid conditions persist across Karachi.
