Treet Battery Signs MOU with CATL-Linked Chinese Firm to Explore Energy Storage Market
Treet Battery Limited has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with China’s Contemporary Nebula Technology Energy Co Ltd (CNTE) to explore long-term opportunities in Pakistan’s growing energy storage sector.
In a notice submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company confirmed that the agreement was signed on May 25, 2026, establishing a framework for strategic collaboration focused on developing advanced energy storage solutions for the Pakistani market.
CNTE, a high-technology firm established in 2019, is backed by Contemporary Amperex Technology Co Limited (CATL), one of the world’s largest battery manufacturers. CATL has maintained a dominant position in the global power battery market, holding a 39.2% share in usage volume and ranking first globally for nine consecutive years from 2017 to 2025. It has also led global energy storage battery shipments for five consecutive years from 2021 to 2025.
The Chinese firm is led by Huang Shilin, co-founder and chairman, and specializes in manufacturing energy storage systems based on CATL battery cells using lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology for commercial, industrial, and utility-scale applications.
According to Treet Battery, the partnership aims to bring CNTE’s advanced technology, product portfolio, and technical expertise to Pakistan while leveraging Treet’s local market presence, distribution network, and after-sales infrastructure.
The collaboration will focus on residential, commercial, and industrial energy storage solutions, with the potential for future value-added activities, including local assembly operations in Pakistan.
Officials said the agreement reflects growing demand for battery-based energy solutions across multiple sectors, as Pakistan seeks to strengthen its energy infrastructure and transition toward more reliable and sustainable power systems.
