Shayan Akbar Promoted to Commercial Finance Manager (JP) at BAT

Shayan Akbar has taken the next step in his professional journey, advancing to Commercial Finance Manager (JP) at BAT. In this role, he brings his financial expertise to support business performance, brand profitability, pricing strategies, and data-driven decision-making for BAT Japan’s Combustibles and Modern Oral (VELO) portfolios.

Prior to this promotion, Akbar served as Assistant Commercial Finance Manager (JP), partnering with marketing functions at BAT’s Tokyo Head Office. His earlier experience as Corporate Finance Analyst at BAT Pakistan and Executive Corporate Finance at Engro Group has strengthened his capabilities in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis. A graduate of Lahore University of Management Sciences with a BSc (Honors) in Accounting and Finance and a minor in Psychology, he combines analytical expertise with a strategic business perspective.
