According to the Seismological Centre, the earthquake measured 5.2 on the Richter scale. The depth of the quake was recorded at 128 kilometres below the earth’s surface, while its epicentre was located near the Tajikistan–China border, indicating that the tremors were felt across a wide region.
Residents in several areas of the twin cities reported feeling the tremors, with many stepping out of their homes and offices as a precaution. Despite the brief panic, initial assessments confirmed that the situation remained under control, with no casualties or structural damage reported.
