M. Hassan Soomro Appointed as Senior Risk Manager – Pakistan & Levant at Visa

Muhammad Hassan Soomro has stepped into the role of Senior Risk Manager Pakistan & Levant at Visa, bringing with him extensive experience across credit risk management, portfolio analytics, and regulatory reporting. With a strong foundation in financial risk and data-driven decision making, he will support Visa’s regional risk strategy across complex and evolving markets.

Prior to joining Visa, Hassan spent over eight years at Standard Chartered Bank, where he held progressive leadership roles including Associate Director Credit Risk Management. His work encompassed portfolio stress testing, credit policy formulation, risk decisioning frameworks, and senior management reporting, contributing to proactive risk mitigation and portfolio stability. He also played a key role in building automated dashboards, forecasting models, and regulatory reports to enhance transparency and governance.

An alumnus of IBA with a diploma in Big Data Analytics, Hassan combines strong analytical depth with practical banking experience. In his new role, he is well positioned to strengthen risk oversight, support regional growth, and deliver resilient risk management frameworks aligned with global standards.
