Utopia Industries is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join our team as Deputy General Manager – Production & Development (Metal Division) at our Unit 4 facility in SITE Phase 2, Karachi. The Deputy General Manager will provide strategic leadership for the Metals Division in the export business, overseeing end-to-end operations across Production, Operations Management, and Product Development. This role is central to driving operational excellence, accelerating innovation, and strengthening cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities:
Develop and execute the strategic vision for the Metal Division, aligning production, operations, and product development with organizational objectives and business growth.
Lead end-to-end manufacturing operations, ensuring achievement of production, quality, cost, delivery, and productivity targets.
Optimize production capacity, resource utilization, production planning, and operational workflows to maximize efficiency and minimize lead times.
Establish, monitor, and review divisional KPIs, dashboards, and operational reports to drive performance, accountability, and informed decision-making.
Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational excellence, reduce waste, and improve OEE/OLE.
Lead new product development and industrialization by ensuring manufacturability, cost optimization, quality, and timely product launch to strengthen market competitiveness.
Direct plant expansion, capacity enhancement, and capital investment projects, including planning, procurement, installation, and commissioning of new facilities and equipment.
Oversee Production Planning & Control, inventory management, and cross-functional coordination to ensure uninterrupted production, material availability, and efficient supply chain operations.
Ensure compliance with quality, health, safety, environmental, and statutory requirements while promoting a safe and high-performance work environment.
Drive division-wide cost optimization through effective resource utilization, process improvements, strategic sourcing, and disciplined management of Capex and Opex budgets.
Review financial and operational performance reports, providing strategic insights and recommendations to senior management for business improvement.
Build, mentor, and develop high-performing leadership teams while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Requirement:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
10–12 years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations and product development, with at least 2–3 years in a senior leadership role, preferably in manufacturing and export-focused industries.
Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and change management capabilities with a focus on talent development and organizational growth.
Proven experience in leading large, cross-functional teams and driving operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing, process optimization, NPD/NPI initiatives, and continuous improvement.
Exposure to strategic planning, capacity expansion, business development, and delivering measurable operational and financial performance improvements.
Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
Lean Six Sigma and Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) is a plus.
