Universal Packaging Company (UPCO), a leading name in flexible packaging, is expanding its team and looking for experienced professionals to join us at our Korangi Creek Industrial Park facility in Karachi. We are currently hiring for four key positions in our production and planning departments.

1. Incharge – Lamination

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise lamination operations across solvent-based, solventless, and water-based machine platforms.
• Manage adhesive mixing, coat weight control, and material consumption across all lamination processes.
• Monitor and prevent lamination defects including delamination, tunneling, bubbles, and misregistration.
• Execute all production confirmations, material issues, and stock reconciliation through SAP.
• Lead shift teams, enforce GMP and 5S standards, and ensure full chemical safety compliance.

Requirements:

• B.Sc. / DAE in Polymer, Chemical, or Mechanical discipline or equivalent.
• 5–8 years of experience in flexible packaging lamination with solventless and solvent-based machines.
• Hands-on experience with Comex, Nord, or equivalent lamination machines.
• Strong understanding of PU adhesive chemistry, mixing ratios, and curing parameters.
• Proficiency in SAP MM/PP modules for production and material transactions.

2. Incharge – Bag Making

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee simultaneous operations across Stand-Up Pouch, Center Seal, Box Pouch, Diaper, and Flier lines.
• Control heat seal parameters, dwell time, and sealing precision across all bag formats.
• Conduct seal strength testing, leak testing, and dimensional accuracy checks.
• Manage film and raw material consumption, minimising waste during production.
• Record production data and material consumption through SAP with accurate reconciliation.

Requirements:

• B.Sc. / DAE in Polymer, Mechanical, or Industrial discipline, or equivalent.
• 5–8 years of experience in bag making or converting within flexible packaging.
• Hands-on experience with Stand-Up Pouch, Center Seal, Box Pouch, and Sachet machines.
• Strong understanding of heat sealing, film structures, and bag format engineering.
• Proficiency in SAP PP/MM modules for production and material management.

3. Ink Plant Incharge

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end ink preparation, formulation, and shade adjustment as per approved standards.
• Operate the R&K Proofer for 100% shade verification using Delta E and spectrophotometer analysis.
• Monitor in-press ink viscosity and troubleshoot tone variation, bleeding, and drying issues.
• Manage ink inventory and material issuance through SAP with accurate stock reconciliation.
• Lead ink lab operations including instrument calibration, moisture analysis, and chemical safety compliance.

Requirements:

• B.Sc. Chemistry / DAE (Chemical or Printing Technology) or equivalent.
• 5–8 years of experience in ink plant management within flexible packaging or gravure printing.
• Hands-on experience with Rotogravure presses and R&K Proofer.
• Working knowledge of color science, Delta E measurement, and spectrophotometry.
• Competent in SAP MM module for inventory and stock management.

4. Planning Executive

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily production recording and ensure timely follow-ups with relevant departments.
• Create and monitor Production Orders, Purchase Requisitions, BOM, and routing in SAP.
• Support new material induction through accurate master data entry and coordination.
• Manage bobbin and carton records including issuance, tracking, and consumption management.
• Coordinate with Marketing, Production, and Dispatch teams to support daily operations.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports using SAP with accuracy and clarity.

Requirements:

• 1–3 years of experience using SAP S/4 HANA.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in MS Excel — VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data formatting.
• Strong attention to detail with good organisational skills.
• Effective communication and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
