With more than three decades of experience across banking, finance, and corporate leadership, Yousaf Hussain has built a remarkable career defined by transformation, strategic thinking, and a commitment to sustainable growth.

His journey began in finance and banking, taking him through organizations including Mobilink, Mashreqbank, and ABN AMRO, where he held progressively senior roles across corporate banking, trade finance, risk management, and business leadership.

In 2017, Yousaf took on the role of President & CEO of Faysal Bank, where he led one of the most significant transformations in Pakistan’s banking sector, converting a conventional bank into a fully Islamic bank.

Under his leadership, Faysal Bank achieved 5x growth in business and profitability, expanded to more than 850 branches, and built deposits exceeding PKR 1 trillion. The transformation also involved the seamless conversion of around two million customers to Islamic banking.

Beyond banking, Yousaf has continued to contribute to Pakistan’s wider business ecosystem through leadership roles including President of the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI) and Vice Chairman of the Pakistan Banks Association.

His journey is a powerful reminder that true leadership is not simply about achieving growth, but about having the vision and courage to transform an institution while creating lasting value for its people, customers, and society.
